@Wukki You are absolutely correct, this entire post was purely conjecture on my part based off of what I've seen in the Beta and my experiences. :D

In terms of actual mitigation, stacking strength gems will probably be more viable for mitigation than dodge / stam, since dodge has diminishing returns.

Granted, this is just speculation, and much testing hasn't been done on gems. :)

@Kadomi Glad you enjoyed the article, Kadomi. The more and more I read and think and learn about the patch and the expansion the more I just cannot wait.

Very nice review of gems. I also like being able to gem differently. Who woulda thunk, there are other than blue gems out there? Amazing! :)

@Albinobeard The days of stacking stamina are certainly gone forever and I'm actually quite happy about it.

I like what you're saying here and I totally agree with you. The days of stacking Stamina are over in my opinion. I think going for socket bonuses and using the other colored gem sockets correctly are going to benefit us more now that crushing blows are relatively out of the picture.

I'd have to say that I think using STR in red sockets is going to be the solid way to go as it will not only buff your mitigation but your threat as well.

Yellow sockets are still up in the air with what you want to stick in them based on whether you need survivability or threat.

Great post overall though.
